You Can't Have It All

bouquet-terrible.jpgOkay, so maybe I’m a terrible person for ridiculing a bridal bouquet.

The “cage” appearance of greenery over flowers can be beautiful — but not if the bouquet is an eye-popping green/orange/purple thing — simple white would have been breathtaking.

But, to pair this already over-the-top bouquet with a dress accented in red. Oh my, I am literally at a loss for words.

What do you think about this dress/bouquet combo?

This is not a bouquet for a bride unless she has a fall theme happening, and of course, a fall colored dress of oranges, yellows and browns would be more suited. Hmmm, looks like I left the wedding theme and went right into the county fair. 🙂

As a florist i can’t tell you enough how much i dislike this particular trend – but brides LOVE it for some unknown reason.

I find the key to this is to put the speargrass curving around one side – never over the top. AS well as making the bouquet looks smaller it always (i think) makes them look lopsided and my absolute pet hate is when you see the photos later on and the grass has snapped, so you end up with all these spikes. ugh!
