Real Party: autumn sweets table

16 Nov

We have a wonderful tradition at my workplace. Each week, someone brings treats – typically for breakfast. We sometimes get stuck in a rut of breakfast pizza, bagels or donuts, and occasionally, we step outside of that box and have something really special.

This week, my partner in crime, Grace, and I created something delicious that knocked our coworker’s socks off.

Take 1 part cupcakes from Sweets Bakeshop, a few homemade caramel apples, pumpkin cream cheese whoopie pies, smore’s on a stick, poundcake pops, popcorn, cider and a few types of candy, and you have a sweets table fit for a small marketing firm!

(made with this recipe – replaced the ginger with pumpkin pie spice and doubled the cream cheese, and didn’t make them mini)

Apples for the folks who like a healthier sweet:

Lessons learned:
it’s okay to direct the photographer, even if they are volunteering to help.
I should have ironed the linens – nobody cared, but I noticed and I cringe when I see the wrinkled fabric.
if using garlands, put them closer to the table
dark walls can be overwhelming

Next time, it’ll be even better!
