Florence, Italy Inspiration Shoot

29 Jun

Did you see our great hammered spoon tutorial on Elizabeth Anne Designs? We’re so thrilled that they posted it!

But wait, there’s more!

When creating the hammered spoons, we were also finding a lot of inspiration from Florence, Italy, and designed a tablescape around that lovely city!

For the table: gold chargers, olive linens and simple white tableware. All was placed on a lovely silk dupioni tablecloth.

We’d be crazy to leave out the fantastic rustic bread, cheeses and other accoutrement.

Inspiration: birthday party tricycle wash

31 May

As I sit on my computer, wondering how steamy this week will be, this photo completes 2 goals.
1. makes me smile, ear to ear
2. makes the warm weather just a touch more bearable.

p.s. this would be an absolutely awesome addition to most any summer party.

Love.

Inspiration: A rainbow of vintage typewriters

23 Feb

A vintage typewriter can tie your vintage-style wedding together nicely. And what guest wouldn’t love to type a sweet note to the bride and groom on one of these beautiful typewriters.

Bonus: with a little searching, you can find a typewriter in nearly any color to match your wedding decor.

DIY letterpress

29 Jan

Letterpress makes us swoon. The texture, the cut of the printing block, the ink.

But it also makes us sad because it’s so expensive.

Cue the doves & the choir of angels… now you can do it yourself at home!

The always-awesome Paper-Source just released a home letterpress set! It retails for only $149 (one of us once paid over $300 for a broken letterpress – and dreamed of fixing it up) – that includes the following:

Letterpress tool
Epic 6 machine
Clear packing mat with packing sheet
Ink brayer
Ink base
Black letterpress ink
Letterpress paper (10 sheets of A2 flat)
Paper positioning guides
Printing plates
Printing plate adhesive

Perhaps it’s the “new” GOCCO?
Whatever it is, it’s on our Christmas lists!

Watch for a tutorial the week after Christmas (if a certain husband gets it for a certain wife)!
